I live near the Ashokan Reservoir which supplies water to New York City. The shores are undeveloped and recreation is limited to fishing from rowboats only. Because of this, the views are undisturbed and pristine and harken back to a more romantic time before lakefront houses and jet skis.
I have painted Reservoir Sunsets many times but this is the first large piece in my oeuvre dating back a few years. This is the piece that solidified my current style of using hard edges and solid block of color. An important piece in my development.
